It's a Thursday again! It's time for another Girls Talk meme which was started by the ravishing Niko. Today's theme is perfume. I don't spray anything on me now (what a downer for an intro, eh? Ha ha). I stopped using them after I gave birth because Paulie has such a sensitive nose and we weren't sure if Svet will inherit that so we stayed on the safe side and not used anything perfume-y ever since she came out. So I've no picture to share. But when I was in high school and college, I used to try everything that comes out of Bench. I stuck to Eight for a long time and I didn't care if it was for men. I loved how it smells. I hated B2O, which smells sour when combined with sweat. Yuck. My guy best friend in high school dared to wear that one day and I refused to sit beside him (we always sit together) until he switched to another perfume (CK One, I think. Gawd I love that smell). Then during the latter part of college I used this body spray and I'm still trying to remember it's name but it has a green bottle and smells like I just stepped out of the shower. Damn it. I can't place the brand. But it's definitely HerBench.
Thirty minutes later...
Got it! HerBench Simple. Stupid. I didn't think to look at Bench's site. I didn't even know they have a site. Niahaha. Anyway, I took the liberty to grab a pic of that (below) from the site. I tried Pure and Bare but it was so-so, thus I stuck to Simple. I remember also using the Bratsplash Raspberry Crush cologne briefly, because my mom said I stank like a prostitute the first time she smelled that on me (wtf) and the next time I had it on she said I smelled like the inside of a car. Augh. I didn't realize I was such a Bench body spray fan girl. Bench sprays are mostly affordable so that's the number one reason. Plus Bench was so mainstream. LOL. And you know it's like in high school. What one in the group has, everybody has them as well.
I also remember (okay, not quite remember) a Julia something cologne from Sara Lee. Jeez. I'm SO getting old I can't even remember these stuff. It has a transparent plastic bottle whose contents is half blue and half transparent and you need to shake it first before applying so that they mix? It also smells like I've just finished showering, so you have a clue now what I dig in perfumes. Anyway, go figure if it's really called Julia or some other whatsherface name. Isn't it cool that even thinking of how a perfume smells brings up memories you haven't thought of a long time? I suddenly miss high school, what do you know.
That was fun! Care to share your favorite perfume? Please don't be such an amnesiac like me though. Hee hee. Do join us and comment on Niko's post and link to it. Last week I forgot I was supposed to join even though Niko reminded me on my shoutbox that day. Okay girl. You can take out your pan and hit me in the head now. Ouch. But I have already published my entry for that day (backdated) here. Bleh. Niahehe.
