Your Contest Points So Far

As promised, below are the TOP TEN HIGHEST POINTERS of the contest so far. These do not include the points for comments on my blog and Pehpot's, as well as comments on the major sponsors' blogs. We will include them in the final tallying of points (excitement effect. LOL), so these points are only those that came from the mechanics pages. So without further ado, here are the top ten as of February 15, 2010:

  1. Gene - 1090
  2. Kikamz - 960
  3. Niko - 890
  4. Mys - 850
  5. Chris - 840
  6. Sherry - 770
  7. Red - 700
  8. Kasai - 570
  9. Beng - 550
  10. Tetcha - 450

Are you intimidated by their scores? LOL! Don't be. It's still far away from contest end. And let me explain why such high scores. We gave an extra FOUR HUNDRED (400) POINTS for those who completed the reviews of the four major sponsors, ASIDE from giving extra benefits to those who finished completing the requirements early. Why the whopping extra points? Because:

Starting today, we are changing one of the contest requirements. The review of the four major sponsors will NOT be a requirement anymore, so that's yay for everyone whose reason for not joining is that they cannot make a blog review or do not have the time to earn that top spot for the $200. BUT, we will STILL REQUIRE that you post a separate entry with the links of the four major sponsors (codes are already provided. OMG, this is sooo getting lazy-friendly. LOL). We came to this decision because more than we'd like to motivate you to practice your blog reviewing skills for future writing opportunities, we want to keep our promise to our beloved sponsors to give them at least 150 backlinks each for the duration of the contest. So there.

As a recognition to those who were forced (hee hee) to make a review of the major sponsors in the original rules, we are giving them an extra 400 points for their effort. Not bad eh? Anyways, a more detailed explanation of the revised mechanics is here at the original mechanics page, so do read (especially for the new participants.) We hope this move entices more people to join the contest. If not, then... We'll just think of other ways to encourage people join. LOL. You know me and Pehpot. We ALWAYS find a way ;)

El's Christening

I made this invitation last Friday for my nephew Elijah's baptismal (which takes place today). It was Ayie's (my younger sister/Elijah's mother) birthday yesterday, that's why they decided to have the ceremony on almost the same date. Ayie approved of the design (she was breathing down my neck the whole time I was making the invitation), and I'm glad it turned out great. We posted it on her Facebook account as soon as it was finished (no sense printing it as everyone she invited to attend were on Facebook). It was so much better than the one I made for Svet's own baptismal because I didn't know where to go for my resources back then. Elements were from the Christening Kit freebie of Scrap Happy Manda Designs (please visit her page right here if you want to grab it for your own layout) and the gorgeous wordart is made by Bethany of Elegant WordArt (go here if you want to download it for yourself). Fonts used are Affair (that lovely script type I am so in love with right now) and Trajan Pro Bold.

Here is my nephew at the church, looking like a corrupt congressman. Hahaha!
