4th Batch Of Sponsorship Pledges

Here's the fourth batch of those who pledged to sponsor our contest. I can't stay too long blogging because the heat is killing me and I'm just about to melt so without further ado, here they are:

Home Buddies
The topic of the blog ranges from techy stuffs to some rants of a mommy. If I have to categorize this site, I can say that this is a personal blog of a stay at home/work at home mother.

How I Earn Money Online

Simple Pero Rock
A site of working mom who also tries to make it big on online gigs.

it's not always about me...
but most of the time it is..

The Pig And The Piglets

Here's a recent picture of my daughter Svet, my youngest sister Tettet and my baby nephew Elijah (and Spongebob and Pikachu's butt and Patrick starfish who was unfortunately wrestled by that green stuffed toy I don't know the name of). This was taken two weeks ago, I think. We haven't gone to my other nephew's house so there's no picture of the four of them yet but I will post them here when I can. Is this a fishy filler post or what? LOL.

Merry Christmas!

We're already here at Bulacan celebrating the season with the family. It's so far been a blast, what can I say? I hope you're having a merry Christmas, too, wherever in the world you are. :)

MUDTRAP.COM

We're Off To Bulacan

For about a week. We'll be spending Christmas and New Year at my MIL's to catch up on family affairs so I won't be blogging a lot, but, well, I haven't really blogged consistently these days so you won't miss me at all. LOL. I'm excited much, knowing that for the first time I will be meeting the venerated marce club. Well, not all of them, as Seiko, Gene, Jade and Liz cannot be present at the get-together even if they wanted to. So who's left? Niko, Yami, Mye, Fedhz and Peh. Hmmm, the latter two I talk on messenger on a daily basis, so I can't say I'm super excited about meeting them. LOL. Just kidding. In truth I'm really excited as a kid after waking up on Christmas morn. I hope we five don't end up staring into space avoiding each other's eyes for lack of anything interesting to talk about.

Nah, not a chance in hell. I'm sure we'll have a blast ;)

Adgitize Lowered Prices Back to $14!!!

Yep. That's right. As a Christmas gift to Adgitizers and after much discussion within the Adgitize community, Ken Brown and the gang decided to bring back the old $14 a month prices. I'm somewhat guilty of contributing to that decision, as one of the many advertisers who did not renew ads after the increase to $24 a month. I would have renewed, if I had the time recently to collect my points and thus realize an ROI (return of investment), but seeing I've been busy with money-whoring (among other things) lately, then I had to postpone advertising. But this news (relayed by Fedhz through text) had me excited and I will definitely be advertising again with Adgitize once we get back from vacation.

This is really great news right? What, you're not an Adgitize member yet? You gotta be kidding. You love your Alexa ranking and the opportunities that come with it? Then you HAVE TO SIGN UP with Adgitize. It's only $14 to advertise a month!

3rd Batch Of Sponsorship Pledges

Here's the third round of pledges for my and Pehpot's blogversary contest. We're inching our way to our targeted funds in order to implement the prize tree that we Pehpot came up with, and we promise to make this contest a VERY easy one to join and VERY rewarding for everyone. Sponsors are more than welcome to join the contest, and the bigger the pledge, the bigger you get out of our blogversary gimmick. Oh, yes, the list:

Clarisse After Dark
Where the author spends some of her time after work, just blogging about her thoughts about anything under the sun for posterity's sake.

Jena Isle's Random Thoughts
The personal blog of an excellent creative writer. This is where she blogs about love, education, health, writing and life.

Crossroads.. Where Ideas Meet
A personal blog that shares about everything under the sun. Where all ideas meet, from places, people and events to movies, entertainment, life, etc.

Feel free to harass us through YM, email or our blogs if you know you should be on this list yet you cannot find your blog/s here (or on the older batches of sponsors). Pehpot's quite organized, but I am most definitely not, so it is 100% my fault if something's amiss. Okay? Good. Hee hee. Click the banner below if you want to pledge for sponsorship. It's still ongoing so there's still time to pledge :)

Before this loooong post ends, here's the list of those who pledged the last two weeks. Which will make this extra loooooooooong. Hee hee.

GT: Christmas Decoration

Thursday means Niko's Girl's Talk meme! Today it is about the Christmas decorations we've managed to put up in our homes this year. Well, since we're in the process of moving (yes, we are. I'll tell you about it, err.. next year? Hee hee) and we're not Christmas-ing here in Baguio (we're going to Bulacan to spend the Christmas and the New Year at my MIL's), we don't have anything, as IN anything yet to make the home look and feel festive. Well, not counting that every morning we play Christmas songs (the oldies, my mom's choice). My mom is not decorating this year either, since they will also be in Bulacan this 25. They've gone down ahead of us today, actually, and we will follow on the 23rd. Yikes. Did I just update you on my life? LOL. Well, that's two birds in one stone right there. Join us this week and share pictures and stories of Christmas decorations this year. Click! :)

Staying Warm The Ramblers Way

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Living in a cold city taught me the value of finding the right clothes to keep me warm. I'm all for cold days and nights, but not too much, as I get uncomfortable when that happens. So when I buy clothes, I look for wool as much as possible. Why wool? Why not? It is the foremost choice for warmth. Sadly, there are not a lot of stores here that sell wool, as this is a tropical country, and I think there are only two cities in the country that are always cold like my city. I bet Ramblers Way which sell worsted wool garments would be one of my favorite stores to go to if we have them here.

They have women's and men's apparel which keep the body warm yet are so light, which make them perfect for cold and warm weather. Also, the available apparel can be worn whatever occasion or activity, indoors or outdoors. So the versatility of the material is enough to make you decide to buy them. The fittings are for all body sizes, so you wouldn't have to worry about the sizing variety of each product. Plus, they are chemical-free and are environmentally friendly, so wearing them will not be going against your conscience. And what woman would not fall in love with a next-to-skin undergarment like this?

Knowing that Ramblers Way have these garments to offer, made me re-imagine wool and see them in a different light. Who would have thought I could use worsted wool garments in hot weather? Ramblers Way has made it possible to combine comfortably warm and pleasantly cool while fulfilling their social responsibility with their low-impact and ecologically-minded manufacturing process.

No. This is not an entry for marce Niko's weekly meme over at her blog. LOL. I know I've been missing out on a lot of weeks of Girl Talk already, but I love that girl to bits (I hope she knows that!), so as a way of saying I'm sorry for being such a forgetful toad, I decided to redo her blog. I'm almost finished redesigning all the blogs of the marce club. LOL. Yes, even marce Fedhz suffered my wannabe designer's enthusiasm. Niahaha. Anyways, below is the screenshot of the header and the footer (which I dearly love), in all it's purple glory (and yummy, too, according to marce Pehpot, who was also behind this. She got Niko's username and password for me, as well as asked what her favorite shades of purples are). Feel free to click them to go to her site and leave her some lovin' :)

Help Gene Win For A Cause

Marce Gene of Her and History joined ArtCow's Facebook Photo Competition initially because she wanted the $150 top prize for herself as a Christmas gift. BUT, she learned that her friend and classmate back in college Elmie met a car accident which left her unable to work for a living for almost a month now. Now Gene wants to just donate the money that she would potentially win for Elmie's surgery. Please help Gene win by doing the two simple steps below the picture:

1. Login to your Facebook account and become a fan of Artscow at http://www.facebook.com/ArtsCow.

2. Once you became a fan, view the photo here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4719005&id=203944696146. You'll see below the photo the word "LIKE". Click it :) The word "like" won't appear if you're not a FAN.

All votes will be counted on Tuesday December 15 6:00pm PST and the photo with the most Like votes will receive a $150 cash payment. Please, spread the word and help Gene win! Thank you so much!

One Bahay Kubo

My good friend Clarisse of Coffee Anyone and Wonder Wifey (among a host of other blogs, on different platforms if I may add. hee hee) just started an online business involving the selling of cute and simple t-shirts as well as other gift items which have a Filipino twist to them. The store (which is hers and her husband's) is called One Bahay Kubo. Claire's Pinay, by the way. So you know where the inspiration came from. So if you want to make someone's Christmas (especially a Pinoy's Christmas), give them the gift of Pinoy culture. You're sure to find something worth buying for yourself or for a loved one at her store. This one's cute. It says matakaw which means gluttonous. So fitting of my new nephew. Hee hee. He's so matakaw. *grins* Go on. Click on the picture. It will take you to their store. :)

Working My Butt Off

I have a target to reach and a deadline to beat, that's why I am not writing these days. Not writing for this blog, at least. Ghost writing for other blogs. How ironic is that. I am cranking out an average of 3,750 paid words a day and for the last several days, that's all I do. That's not counting the other things I type on my computer (the unpaid ones). If you count the words on my messenger, it'd be twice as many. LOL. Which gives you an idea of how battered my keyboard is and how fast I can type now. Hee hee. I'm not complaining though. I'm a writer and this type of writing/typing is what I love to do, and getting paid to do that (however big or small) is awesome.

I've never written this much ever since I quit my job as a "researcher" (Notice the quotation marks? Yeah, I thought I was a real researcher too. Story of my life) and was awarded Most Prolific Writer of December 2008. I was coughing up only 3,000 words a day then, but that was daily for a month, eight freakin' hours every friggin' day of the week. While almost everyone else was on Christmas vacation. How's that for a tearjerker. Haha. Anyways, this secret thing I've been doing for the past few days will be posted here tomorrow or Friday, depending on how much longer I can stay in front of the monitor, freezing my balls off. Wait. I don't have balls. And physically, a guy cannot freeze his balls off because when it's cold, the balls are pulled closer to the body by the scrotum. I sound like Dr. Reid (of Criminal Minds, and if you don't know the series, do yourself a favor and watchit, watchit, watchit!), only grosser, so I should stop now. And what do you know. This post ups my word count to 4,074 words today.

And The Best Blog Review Winner Is...

Can I have a drum roll please? Yes, thank you. That's enough. For Fedhz' blogversary slash birthday contest, I promised to award a best blog review worth $5. Fedhz listed those who reviewed me, there were seven of them. And they are:
It was hard to choose, really. All of them managed to stroke my ego (which I like, harhar) in one way or another, and seemed to really dig through my archives to find a post that they like. So it was tough, choosing the winner. But you don't wanna hear my torments, right. So, I'm pleased to announce the winner:

I like it that he organized his review by criteria, and even indirectly gave his opinion on how I can make my site better for monetization. I usually pick on grammar (yeah, I'm not bitchy for no reason), but I made an exception this time because I was impressed with how he reviewed my site. Even gave me an idea of how I should conduct my reviews in the future. So kudos to you Akira! And please send me your PayPal email so I can send you your prize right away. :)

Have a great week everyone!

While We're At It

Pehpot's three older blogs, Make Or Break, NOOB and Bee Mommy also gets a redesign. Graphics layout are, again, provided by her, if only for peace to maintain its reign on the planet. She wanted every single one of her sites to look the same (a brand, if you please), so here they are. The previous ones, by the way, are all WordPress blogs. While this last (hopefully. Niahaha!) batch's platform is Blogger. If you're wondering why her self-titled blog is not made-over yet, it's because she can't find a copy of the codes her hubby Cata made for her Adgitizer tool. And we don't wanna mess with that. Not without a backup. Yes, it is crazy, crossing platforms. So now you know why I'm half-unavailable these days. It's because Marce Peh's tied me to a chain. But I'm free now. And I have a secret project to do. Hee hee. Go on. Click.

Pehpot's New Addiction

Is setting up new sites everyday, it seems. Hee hee. Anyway, she's set up four (read: four) new sites (one's a health blog, the other is her "home" site, another is her review site and yet another is her food blog) which I had the burden pleasure of tweaking. It's a good thing she's always online (and I'm not. LOL) so that she can supervise the whole process. Knowing Pehpot and I's vastly differing tastes (as in universes apart), and coupled with her OC-ness, I had a feeling we won't be finishing the design until next year when we first started. LOL. But what do you know. We actually finished them all. Haha! She made all the headers and footers herself, to avoid the possible scenario of us killing one another if I was in charge of the design. LOL. Go ahead and click the screen captures below. You know you want to. *wink*

Eherm. Sponsors?

Blogversary Banner

Wow. It's been a long while since I first discussed my blogversary contest. It's been pushed at later dates until we finally settled for January. We. Yes, it's not just me now. Pehpot has also celebrated her blog anniversary last November 25 and has decided that we merge our contests into one. Since it's already December 1 and we're planning to hold the contest on January as soon as we all got back from our holiday vacations, we thought it best to start actively looking for sponsors. There were already several who came forward to tell me of their interest to become sponsors, and I will contact those who offered cash after I publish this.

What, cash only??? I originally stated that I will be accepting any form of sponsorship but since there are two of us now and essentially, this will be a bigger contest than I originally planned, we decided it is wisest to give just cash to contestants to eliminate the complexities of our planned contest system. Who wouldn't like some extra cash, anyways? We've (okay, Peh did) already devised a prize tree for the contest, but we will not publish that yet as it still depends on the amount of cash that we will be able to collect from the sponsors (I am tempted to add and run away with it but I love my life more than I love money, so don't slay us).

And while I'm lost in my own thoughts of death by social suicide, if you're interested to become a sponsor (Pretty please??? And that's with sugar on top!), here's what's in store for you:

FOR THE LEVEL ONE SPONSORS ($50 or more)
  • Increased number of comments. Our contest will be focusing on comments, so if you're a MAJOR sponsor, the contestants will gain points by commenting on your blog! That's added readership, valuable feedback and increased traffic! More detailed contest rules to follow in future posts.
  • Tons of backlinks from other sites. If you're conscious about your PageRank, you must know that backlinks are uberly important. You will get them from contestants blogging about our contest and putting your links in their sidebars. And link juice from us, of course.
  • Site reviews. This will be a requirement for contestants, so added feedback to your site, as well as THREE backlinks PER review.
  • Your button or link (if it's not there already) at my PR2 site and Pehpot's PR3 site.
FOR THE LEVEL TWO SPONSORS: ($20 or more)
  • Increased number of comments. As with the Level One sponsors, contestants will gain points for commenting on your blog.
  • Tons of backlinks from other sites. Link juice from contestants (and us) blogging about our contest and your links in their sidebars.
  • Site reviews. Contestants will be given extra points for reviewing your blog, with TWO backlinks PER review.
  • Your button or link (if it's not there already) at my PR2 site and Pehpot's PR3 site.

FOR THE LEVEL THREE SPONSORS: ($5 or more)
  • Tons of backlinks from other sites. Link juice from contestants (and us) blogging about our contest and your links in their sidebars.
  • Site reviews. Contestants will be given extra points for reviewing your blog, with ONE backlink per review.
  • Your button or link (if it's not there already) at my PR2 site and Pehpot's PR3 site.

I can add that the privilege of working with the most creative minds (eherm) on the blogosphere would be another plus to being a sponsor, but that would be lying flagrantly. LOL. We are targeting FIFTY or more participants, so for major sponsors, it means gaining 50 or more blog reviews (times 3 backlinks, that's 150 backlinks or more ) for choosing to sponsor $50.

Sponsors are more than welcome to join the contest, of course. I will be updating weekly about the amount of money we've managed to gather so far so that's something to look forward to. The comment section is waiting for you below for offers and clarifications. Aren't you itching to sponsor now? Hehe.

Adgitize Gift Certificates Now Available

Not here, of course. At the Adgitize site. Hee hee. I asked him (nicely of course. Hee hee) a couple of months ago if it is possible to have a way for Adgitize users to give Adgitize credits to other fellow community members. I was thinking of giving that as one of the prizes in our coming blogversary. True to Ken Brown's word, they implemented a way of giving Adgitize gift cards to be used for advertising on the Adgitize network. Ken Brown, you and the rest of the Adgitize team rock! Taken from the site:

Adgitize Gift Certificates are great to send to prize winners, use as a gift to bloggers that have helped you, or as fun holiday gifts.

After you have paid for your gift certificate, we will assign you a special Adgitize GC Number that your Gift Certificate recipient will be able to use immediately on the Adgitize Web Site to purchase an ad to run on the Adgitize Ad Network. You will be able to email your gift certificate to your preferred recipient.

All Adgitize gift certificates are for one time use, are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. They are redeemable ONLY at Adgitize.com.

The buyer will receive the Adgitize Gift Certificate within 10 hours of purchase to the email on record at Adgitize.

You can go here to purchase gift cards. What a great way to send gifts to fellow bloggers, don't you think?
